The “Ideal public space” is a project developed by the team of young
architects and students. It concerns modern and friendly city
environment. The project presumes building and installation of open
wooden constructions allowing dwellers and tourists to have some rest on city streets, in parks, leisure places, etc. Constructions represent a
closed ecosystem with its renewing energy sources.
There are a lot of popular crowd places that still fail provision of comfort
and entertaining space solutions. The most exciting stuff is held inside
buildings behind tightly locked doors. Still, in order to let a city live with
comfort and joy, it is necessary to equip it properly.
Our constructions are the combination of architectural solution,
technologies and society needs, a “new city history, a new style”.
In the case of the project, a set of objects different editions (with original naming and conceptions) is presented. It can be adapted and used for an incarnation of various places: either a restaurant summer terrace or beach space zones and “summer offices”. “An ideal garden” for parks; “An ideal leisure” for an office roof, etc.
The first object built in the center of Minsk city is called “ The ideal
skyscraper”.
It is believed that skyscrapers destroy the environment around them.
Students under the supervision of an architect George Zaborski intended to understand what an ideal skyscraper is and to demonstrate this in the installation. The Skyscraper is almost a city that should provide itself, without destroying anything (environment, ecology, etc.). So we created the installation “An Ideal skyscraper”, which combines an open space for citizens, a self-sustaining ecosystem, and renewable energy sources.
The structure includes a bar zone with a huge bar table and a
greenhouse with edible plants inside (tomatoes and strawberry); a zone
for work and rest with sits, a stage, where a master-class or a movie-evening can be organized. The second floor is an open gallery zone, where everybody can show his drawings. Energy facilities such as phone recharging, lightning, and wi-fi are available due to installed two solar panels. Rainwater is collecting for drip irritation (for crops growing in the urban mini-garden and the greenwall).
The object is built for the urban art festival "Vulica Brasil". Funding was
received by winning 2 nominations in the social projects competition
"Social Weekend" and so-called hackathon of social projects. The
“skyscraper” is constructed by students-architects, volunteers and other
interested persons. Many of them are regular users now. Solar panels
are received from the partner company.
IDEAL Skyscraper unites open spaces for citizens, a self-sustaining ecosystem, and renewable energy sources. The size of construction is 6x6.6m in plan and 6.3m high. The structure
is created by 66 wooden modules 70x70x200cm each and a wooden red
base frame (timber 10x10cm) on the first floor.
