Project idea

The site for a project is located in Kiev on the left coast of the Dnipro river, that is a district which had been built in the 20-th century. The urban environment around this site is quite grey and full of old USSR regular houses, so I wanted the museum to have some mental connection with the historical context of Kiev. That's why as the image of the building it is an architectural quote of silhouette of Kievan Hills (a historical places of Kiev).

The main idea of this project was to change the empty space of a waterfront line into a green place with an unusual shape of building which could be a landmark of a district. According to the concept the museum should be not only the place for exhibitions but also a cultural center for citizens.

The building is linked with the man-made terrain and has a lot of green spaces to improve the microclimate situation, because there are too much asphalt and concrete covered areas around this place which are the reason of a heat island effect.

Project description

The project consist of site-plan, plans, elevations and perspective images of the museum of modern art. The building has three floors and there is a man-made terrain on the site.
