YOUTH TREE

Project idea

The project is a cultural space in the heart of Kinshasa, capital of the DRC, a place of exchange and meeting of youth.

Project description

The murderous wars and political conflict continues to spill blood in the DRC. My project call to the dynamism of youth, This Youth fills with enthusiasm, courage and a vocation to raise this beautiful country, the DRC Congo (Kinshasa). The Tree of Youth is the symbol of the country and its people falling after the wars, but which are raised by the support of the youth.

Technical information

Tree of youth is two large structures of reinforced concrete in the form of felled tree and supported by other concrete columns representing the young. The two inclined beams contain steps which serve as spaces for circulation, jogging and observation of the city. The interior space between the two beams is reserved for various forms of meeting, temporary exhibition space, meeting in full area, sport and theater.The whole structure is made of reinforced concrete with a concrete casing projected giving it the relief of a tree and all covered with the vegetation replacing. The large inclined beams are made of reinforced concrete. They are supported by concrete columns.
