Knez Mihailova street is the main walking area in Belgrade, which extends from Terazije to Kalemegdan. This street is adorned with several public watches. Today, they pay little attention to them and almost do not serve almost anything, not only because they are not accurate, but because of the time in which we live. Sometimes public city watches were very valuable to Belgraders because most of them were without hours and at any moment they could rely on public city clocks. In front of the palace of "Albania" was a famous public watch, with meetings of various types scheduled: business, love, friendly and political-conspiratorial. Many people regarded that watch as the real center of Belgrade. From it it was easy to go to all parts of the city, either by tram, by bus, by taxi or by a ferryman, who had nearby stations in the immediate vicinity: in front of the Prince Michael's monument and in front of Milanovic's bar in the Riunione Palace. At the beginning of the nineties, it was removed. Today in Knez Mihailova Street, there is the "Insin" pillar watch. The clock was set by the City in 1988 when the entire street was reconstructed. One watch is on the Republic Square set before the beginning of the new millennium. The third, facade watch is located on the building across the Russian Emperor. These watches were my inspiration and served as a symbol of time, duration, mechanisam. Time changes us. Long ago, Oscar Wilde in his novel Picture of Dorian Gray warned of the evil fate of a man's desire to remain forever beautiful and young. That's why there are many beauty salons today that can provide us with various treatments to make us look nice Today, a lot is investing in beautification and everyone is trying to look nice. My idea is that at the location KM10 I make a beauty salon. A machine inside a building where passers-by will be able to enter and beautify for a limited time.
Services carried out in the salon include manicure and pedicure, makeup, hairdresser and massage. On the ground floor there is a fixed wagon in which a hairdresser is located. There are six wagons in which treatments such as pedicure, manicure and makeup take place, and these wagons move in space through three floors . On the first floor there is a fixed wagon with massages. At the entrance to the beauty salon there is a reception where clients report what treatment they would like to do. If they want pedicure, manicure or makeup go to the station one and wait for a clean wagon. The waiting time for a clean wagon is 11 minutes. If clients want massage, they climb escalator to the first floor, where there are locker rooms with shower cabins as well as massage wagons. The facade facing Knez Mihailova street is glass, so this gives an additional effect to the building, because from the outside you can see the movement of the wagon. The other facades are closed. To esthetize the beauty salon of inspiration I was steampunk art.
The interior emphasizes the balance between form and function, that is, it blurs the boundary between tools and ornaments. The wagons are composed of sheet metal and a plurality of gears. The construction of the wagons is made of steel. The interior is composed of mechanics, massive devices, machines that deliberately emit loud noises or steam.
