The study area
Is the cornice of Beirut River It is an island preserve of urbanization
The problems of this area
1) The urbanization that, today, catches this island and will cause saturation in a
few years ( the urban agriculture will diminish for the benefit of this urbaniza
tion).
2) The neglection and the poor organization of the vegetables and fruits market
3) The illegal Sunday market and its misplacement. There is a plan to change its
emplacement.

Project description

My proposition
To restructure the agricultural zone by using new techniques of culture (the hy
droponic and aeroponic ) so I would take the two walls of the river in order to
reduce the footprint

Technical information

The different functions:
- Cultivated area (microclimate, laboratories ...)
- Vegetables and fruits market (wholesale and particular)
- multifunctional space (Sunday Market, various festivals, open public space, ex
tension of the market for vegetables and fruits ...)
- bio restaurants
- Storage and composting
-farmers residence
- techniques area (water treatment, fuel ..)
-parking
