Project idea

The house provides comfort and safety of 4-member family. Each member of the family has its own room. The family meets in a social-area, which is situated on a ground floor. The terrace secures expansion of the social area and makes a very settle interior-exterior transition. The terrace is easily accessible from the living room. The landed property has high proportion of green places, which offers privacy as well as benefits in form of eventual harvesting activity.
The house itself; its shape is affected by 2 factors. Shape of the parcels and direction of the communication (road, sidewalk). The ground floor is oriented north to south ( parallel to parcel), however the 1st floor is oriented in perpendicularity to the communication (road, sidewalk).

Project description

The house is situated in Dvojkrížna street inBratislava, Slovakia. It sits on 2 flat parcels and takes the area of 812 square meters. The landed property is surrounded by buildings from the north. In its safe distance there are situated certain facilities such as church, kinder garden, football pitch, primary school, etc. Access road can be found on the south side of the parcels.

Technical information

Civil engineering project sits on foam glass foundations. Peripheral walls consist of YTONG blocks with width of 300 mm. Partition walls can be found with width of 300 or 140 mm, depends on its function. Building is constructed using longitudinal wall system. Ceilings are made with monolithic reinforced concrete. All constructions are designed to satisfy STN (slovak technical standards).
