Project idea

Integrated design approach has been used between the systems that contribute to the building as the mechanical , Architectural, Structural , Smart and sustainable systems to provide better performance to the building "performance follow function" .
At the beginning i took the petals of the living building challenge " Energy , Water , Beauty , Equity , Site , Health and material " as a design drivers and merge them with smart and architectural system to come up with the criteria and the strategies to build my goals in the project.
Final project goals :
- Net zero energy building through smart solar nano material and smart thermal energy conversion that transfer the different temperatures of the sea into clean electricity and that's one of the reasons why my project inside the sea
- Net zero water building through nano purification material and smart water management control to recycle the water inside the building and the water in the sea
- Net zero waste building through self cleaning material and self recovery for the building elements as the HVAC alone can reduce 40% from carbon dioxide
- Healthy indoor environment through smart rooms automation , smart skin and smart glass
Universal Design through accessibility in entries , circulation and ramps , And through diversity to all society categories in increasing public spaces and increase visibility between the project visitors and the staff to give the visitor to learn how the marine Scientist work and understand their field of study .
-increase the bonding between land and sea through the design and smart movement of the building above and under sea level as in day light to observe the sea life and at night to observe the city and land .
- re-balancing the Eco-system in the marine life of Aqaba golf by cleaning sea water , provide safe places to grow endanger sea species .
-providing public areas to the citizens and make the building an educational tool through its location , design and systems and transfer the traditional meaning of the aquarium into an observatory
- Equity between the characteristics of functions from lightning , ventilation and views so all the functions in the building are exposed to the sea through its movement above and under sea level depending on time and function needs .
On the other hand the essence of the smart system is to Mimic the behavior of biological systems so i took the jelly fish as an inspiration for the marine center
the Jelly fish has three main important functions; energy efficient creature , Water purification and important to the marine food channel , These three main functions created my main three cores , Energy core , Water core and earth core .
