Hospital in Hakimiye with 100 beds was the topic of fourth architectural design at iran university of science and technology architecture school.
Because of the special orientation (in the axis of NW and SE) and location of the selected site (Tehran, Hakimiye, Babyian Blvd, Masoud St), I decided to use the combination of rectangular shapes-as it is showed in the site plan and floor plans- in order to benefit the day light mostly and provide appropriate sun light for almost all of the spaces. According to the fundamental objectives in the project,
most important and critical sections are located in the ground floor in order to be accessed easily and clarified vertical and horizontal circulation provides simple and fast access to each section of the hospital.
Important sections such as accident and emergency department, radiology and etc. and sections that must be accessed easily such as clinics, offices and etc. are located in the ground floor.
Surgery department, ICU, CCU, LDR (labor, delivery, recovery) department and wards are located in the first and second floors.
Services departments such as staffs’ cloakroom, kitchen and food storage, sterile department, mortuary unit and etc. are located in the underground floor with separated access way for vehicles. One outdoor void provides light for this level spaces and access of servicing vehicles.
The hospital has 3 entry; One for emergency access and ambulances (from Babayian Blvd), one for vehicle and parking access and one for pedestrians.
