This project is the master thesis' project. The project consists in designing a public library on the water. Through it, I wanted to experiment "book-water" connection and prove that the main buildings of a city do not necessarily have to be located in concrete squares.
The initial idea was to create an elegant volume that suited the urban context. In this way, the concept is a linear object which is a continuation of the boulevard. The building is organized on three levels where the necessary spaces of a library are positioned.
In order for the impact on the environment to be as minimal as possible and the interior space to be as relaxing as possible, the facade is supposed to be made of glass. Shaders will enable the blocking of light in the interior. The construction will be metal and the whole building will be supported by concrete columns placed in the water. Predicting sea level rise by 2099, the entire building has been raised 2.5m above the current 0.00 level.
