The design task consisted of analyzing a rural territory, in this case the village of Dhermi in south Albania, and finding a problem in this area. The problem had to be solved through architecture. The problem addressed in this project is the uncontrolled construction without adhering to an architectural regulation which leads to the destruction of the traditional values that the area has.
The concept will be based on the features of the vernacular architecture of the old village, including objects close to each other, zoning of lanscape with walls to create the feeling of being in the old village, to create the feeling of privacy and belonging in that place.
The plan composition of a villa type of the complex
preserves the irregularity of traditional buildings and close to each other, even in the volume the regularity of the cuboidal volumes is preserved with rhythmically repeated windows so that when viewed in groups they give the impression of a silhouette of a village similar to the old one. The roof element will not be preserved to have simplicity in volume and a more modern spirit
The project consists of an analysis of the territory identifying the problem. Continues with an urban scale treatment of the area proposed for architectural intervention by organizing new constructions as well as the coast treatment with the continuation of the pedestrian ending with a port for boats at the end of the beach where the rocky area begins. Then the project focuses on treating a typical villa by adhering to elements of vernacular architecture. The project is presented in plans and sections as well as axonometric views and perspectives to better give the idea of the project
