The relevance of my chosen topic lies in the exceptional importance of campuses or multifunctional student complexes in improving the level of educational services, improving the quality of the educational process, living conditions, both for ukrainien students and for foreign students in Ukraine and particulary in Odessa.
The campus is focused on creating conditions for comfortable living of students, graduate students and teachers of Odessa Academy of Architecture, independent study of students, recreational and sports activities. The public space of this campus will be intended for service and recreation of the residents living around campus in this district.
This object is designed in Odessa, in the Kiev area, on Dacha Kovalevskogo Street, 138. The chosen site, with the area of 12,25 hectares, is located among cottage buildings, and the territory for designing is in possession of the Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture.
The plot for the project is conditionally divided into 3 functional zones: public space, where the building of a public center for students and residents of the district with a student club and a park zone is designed; then the residential area, where there are four buildings of student dormitories and housing for teachers; and the third zone, where a sports stadium with a football field and sports grounds is designed. Also on the site there are parking lots for vehicles of residents, guests and visitors of the complex.
The basis of the designed complex is a public center for residents and students, which includes - a group of retail space, a group of multimedia rooms for 300 spectators, a group of sports facilities with a swimming pool and a universal hall, a dining room for 200 seats, as well as a student a hub that includes a library, media library, studios, coworking space, classrooms and self-study rooms.
All these rooms are connected by an atrium space in the form of a glazed passage.
The campus also includes 4 dormitory buildings, designed for different contingents of residents, with a total population of 508 people.
4 types of dormitories were designed.
- Dormitories 1 and 2 (type A) for 120 seats each (120x2), designed for undergraduate students (20 blocks for 6 single rooms with a kitchen-studio for each block); Block for 6 students 120 m2.
- Dormitory 3 (type B) for 160 seats, designed for master's students and family students (80 studio rooms for 1-2 residents, each with an area of 27 m2).
- Dormitory 4 (type C) for 96 seats, designed for graduate students, teachers (48 apartments with an area of 41.6 m2).
But the last type D is located on the 1st floor of the dormitory №4, where there are 6 apartments (78 m2) for people with limited mobility and accompanying them.
