Revitalisation of the Forest Park above Pécs, Hungary

Project idea

The concept of my project is to revitalize the forest park in the purpose
to lure the citizens again up to the forest along the preservation of the
nature. the best way to transform a dying park is to create new layers of
interests for a vide variety of people.

Project description

My solutions are:
- new sport center in the old lung-desease clinic building and gardens:
inside: paintball, squash. basketball; out: bycicle racing and bmx
- revitalisation of the old camping site for the 21st century needs:
common spaces, cottages for 2-3 or bigger groups and a tent camp
- developement of the playground and create a playground for dogs
- the expansion of the ZOO, create wildlife park and a bird hospital cage
- forest park center with services, groceries for residents and tourists
- convert the deserted area of amusement park to summer school area
and an digital art - center for study and creation
- a calm place in the woods far away from the city with cottages to rent
for people fighting with mental-health problems or depression to heal

The concept of the transportation in the first place is to make the forest area safe for pedestrians, cyclists and hikers while make it easier to get to this renewed recreation area. It was important to apply safety regulations, crime-prevention precautions and the 21th century needs.

Technical information

After the development the Dömör Gate would become - with a little exaggeration - a small intermodal center: Forest train station,bus stop and the extension of the city bus line further to the east, parking lot and bike renting point next to the amusement park gate. in the first place is the safe and fluent walking of pedestrians through thearea. Therefor every sidewalk, pavement and road-crossing is rised up above the level of the roads, to ensure the safety.
