This project is about the completion of the historic city center of Mikulov. It was necessary to continue the tradition of the surrounding houses and the whole face of the city. The whole building is shaped according to the character of the surrounding buildings. The building should serve mainly for the function of housing, but the space of the whole plot also carries other functions (commercial premises, wine cellar).
The work deals with the design of a multifunctional house with a predominance of functions intended for permanent housing, partly for temporary housing (guest house) supplemented by spaces for parking and commerce. It is a new building inserted into the gap of the surrounding historic buildings in the center of Mikulov. It is also designed carport, which has a green roof. At the back part of the plot there is an entrance from the city walls to the semi-public space. There is a wine cellar, which was already located here.
It is used a two-way wall system in the construction, which is supported by load-bearing columns in the garage area and in part of the commercial space. The gable roof does not disturb the roof landscape of Mikulov in any way, therefore it is covered with traditional burnt roofing. There is a neutral light beige plaster in combination with light wood on the window frames. Part of the arches of the portico is highlighted by white plaster, which mimics the historical element.
