This project portraits the methaphor of many artists' minds. The thinking of an artist can be sometimes very messy and full of different thoughts, ideas and concepts, that are most likely unrelated to one another. Everyone who is a passionate artist knows that the environment of his working area often reflects the chaotic situations that are happening in his mind. Their room can sometimes be upside-down. Literally.
So the main idea, as you have probably already figured out, is chaos and unrealistic composition and placement of furniture. There is also a movement shown, as all the things seem like they are being pushed away from the frame by certain kind of force coming from the the middle of the image. You can see stack of magazines, pencils, pillows or individual flowers flying in the air.
The oveall design of the space is very industrial and rustic. Nowdays very popular seating made out of raw wooden palettes, lighting in form of exposed light bulbs and rusty pipes,... In the left corner there is a rail for clothes on the ceiling and a leather chair on the wall. Carpets are placed on the wall above the sofa, paintings from the owner of the room are sticked to the ceiling and the whole messy look is complemented by Zettelite, a paper lamp designed by German artist Ingo Maurer. An easel with relevant side table shouldn't be missing.
Red brick wall and concrete tiles on the floor add more texture and rawness to the room. In addition, I used variety of textures and prints, such as completely different carpets, prints on the pillows or the paintings that fill the whole place. But I still tried to harmonize the colors, so the design would make an united and balanced whole.
Variety of materials: raw wood, concrete, metal, bricks. The room is part of a private studio apartment located in the outskirts. Technical information are not the main part of this project.
