The idea is based on generating a media library that works as a cultural landmark and, at the same time, recovering part of the forest area that has been lost due to its intervention.
The provincial media library is positioned as a new cultural benchmark, connecting architecture and nature, culture and landscape. It provides contemporary spaces for culture and education. Its public nature is evident in its relationship with the immediate environment. It opens to the city with a generous access plaza that functions as a gate to the tall forest that climbs the building, up to the sky. From the roof, a cultural plaza dominates the sights of the city.
Two types of city blocks prevail in La Plata. One of them is the consolidated one, in which the block is completed by the edges and emptied in the center. The other consolidates in reverse, leaving the perimeter free.
The media library is located in a consolidated block at the edges, which is why it is inserted completing the block, demonstrating its respect for what exists.
It is positioned in front of the legislature, a historical heritage building, so the media library maintains an austere and respectful character.
