Project idea

I took inspiration from my previous school i.e I.M.C.G F-6/2,ISLAMABAD and I also I did the case study of an international school in Beijing,China by the name of Hngzhou Gudun primary school.What I took from both of these national and international case studies is that to provide students a protective and at the same time open environment.

Project description

DESIGN STUDIO REPORT:

PROJECT:PRIMARY SCHOOL.

LOCATION:LEHTRAR ROAD,CHAK SHEHZAD.

We were given an area of about 79797 sft.The area had contours and had a stream of water floating by.It had many trees and huge rocks in its natural surroundings.It was very sunny in the summers.
The blocks of the school should be connected and and the students should have a monitered but friendly environment.
First of all when we enter the school,there is a long pathway that leads to the school podium and a road that leads to the parking area.I had made a ramp along with stairs to reach the podium.
After reaching the gate,we have gymnasium on the right side and account office on the left.Then on the right of gymnasium we have a play area for students.This area also have swings,slides and monkey bars.
To the left of this play area,we have our faculty offices,kitchenette,storage,toilets and principal’s office.
To the left of faculty block we have the classrooms and on the left side of these classrooms we have our student toilets and cafeteria.
There are staircase at the end of this corridor and to the left of which we have our kindergarten.
Between the kindergarten and the accounts office,we have an alley that leads to a muddy play ground that is plain and has a view of the stream floating by.
It has a protective mesh wall as well.We also have a faculty garden that has a door from the corridor of the faculty block.
Also there a central garden that is enclosed in the corridor and is surrounded by classrooms and faculty block.
When we go upstairs to the second roof,there is a library,infermary and a combat class open terrace to the left and to its front we have acomputer lab surrounded by balcony from two sides.
The cafeteria we have has a circular glass wall that has the view of the garden behind it.

Technical information

I designed a school in which I could take full advantage of the surrounding views,of the huge amount of heat and light coming from sun.For this I used great amount of glass in my exterior.Also I had used solar panels all over the roof to absorb sunlight.This is my element for the green architecture.Also I had used warm colours like yellow on the exterior of the school as well as in interior.
