Project idea

Tabriz is a multi-cultural and multi-language city located in the northwest of Iran. Differences in people’s languages and cultural roots have made this city unique in social demography and human culture in Iran which directly affects on art trends in this Asian country.the recent survive on art category preferences, time and costs paying for arts among different social classes in Tabriz demonstrate the fact that there is significant diversity in Tabrizians interests in art categories and styles, for instance, folk performing art is very appealing among upper-middle-class while upper class follows western types like ballet dance, also, the economic circumstance is a focal factor in the following art by residents of Tabriz.

Project description

To increase the unity in art culture and making different social class levels familiar with divers art categories and styles, this project aims to exhibit different realms of performing art for all with every taste of art and every pocketbook. This idea also shapes the form of the project including frames in eight-directions undertaking performing a wide range of art productions to eight faces of the city. All frames are unified and connected by a glass dome in outer perspective and centralist arena theater from inside.
It is safe to say that the Azerbaijan geography zone especially the city of Tabriz has had fundamental effects on rising traditional Persian Architecture throughout the history of Iran. Considering the dominant formal structure in Tabriz public buildings, it can be figured out that dome and portico are two constant elements in the aforementioned buildings that can be defined from functional and semantic viewpoints. porches are symbols of conjunction between the inner world and all exist in its outside, in other words, they are gates for traveling to the mysterious spiritual world. In parallel Domes are unifying elements remembering the sky. Tabriz performing arts center tries to present a modern version of these symbols by changing in their proportionality and function. frames represent events and shows are hosted inside the complex, and the skydome is a social gathering space unifying formal elements of the building. Also, the Persian hierarchy and proportionality are considered in the plan design of this building.

Technical information

The Persian hierarchy and proportionality are two focal points in designing The plan of this building, and the modern form of the aforementioned building tries to remember the traditional architecture of Tabriz by modernizing some familiar elements.
