The college cafe located in Shri mata vaishno devi university is derived from a cubical composition of masses and voids that have been volumetrically analysed to formulate spaces.
Unconventional cafe has been carved out of a 5x5m cube.Carving is a subtractive process where sections of simple mass are removed to create a more complex mass. Subtraction creates distinctively shared void that interact visually with the mass to create strong relationship and open up the space of the forms. Interesting spaces have been created for students to sit and enjoy by this process.
The cafe located in university is located between 2 hostels so as to receive
maximum footfall.
Materials used are concrete and timber.
