Project idea

This proposal for the Street Children Rehabilitation Center stems out of a better future of those children.
The proposal of rehabilitation center arises for the goal to embody the pride and hope, the nation’s places on its future generation, the recognition that street children with the enormous potential are considered as a great part of our national wealth. And the objectives are (a) to fulfill a long felt of need for an organization to guide, advice, coordinate and encourage the activities of the various children organizations, both governmental and non-governmental; (b) to rehabilitate and provide philosophical, educational and vocational training to the street children as they become self-dependent individuals as much as possible.

Project description

The proposal of STREET CHILDREN REHABILITATION CENTER is to fulfill a long felt of need for an organization to guide, advice, co-ordinate and encourage the activities of the various children organizations, both governmental and non-governmental. Establish shelter home of the children who have no access to formal and non-formal schooling. Domestic worker, tea stall boy, beggar, tokay etc, may be involved in this project. Those children who have been the object of exclusion both in government and non government institutions. This project provide vocational program with its own resource. This project, STREET CHILDREN REHABILITATION CENTER; which all activities are regarded for child development such as physical, emotional, cognitive and socio-cultural that is obviously need for their future development. The project goal is to provide an environment where they belong. But street is harmful for them because of pollution, poison, and lack of security and safety trap of Ganges, drags, and many sexual exploitations and dangerous diseases. So I want to trans-create the environment of street in this project where the problem of the street is abandoned but the space of street are trans-created. One of the reason of designing this project as street is “As they are habituated in street life style and in the freedom of street, like to stay in group with their friend. Their shearing, communication, interaction all are happened in the street. All activity of street children is tie with the street. They learn in street from their friend and the activity of street informally. So the openness of space and touch of nature like the street is needed.” Apart from that ,as they grow up in streets where their only identity is as “street children”-I like to provide them a new identity-a identity that provide by this project to stand ,to face and to shout for their place in this big world. A space that can transform them from the most neglected one’s to one of the proud member of this society….A space that can regenerate their identity.
In master plan effort has given to trans create the environment of street with careful consideration of safety and comfort, scale of street, openness of space, permeability of function, relation with nature, participation of children by shearing and gathering etc.
