History
kaluthara or kaluthota is a coastal city located in the western province of sri lanka.boarderd by the indian ocean and the kalu river.The main city premises are marked with two religious buildings, The kaluthara bodhiya and the holy cross church. kaluthara is a home to large variety of people, consisiting of a population 159.948. The community has been developed with a variety of cultures and religions, most recent evidence is the colonial influence on current kaluthara community. In the past kaluthara has got a varius art types. Down south famous for performing arts that has slightly touched the kaluthara community.this city is home to famous artists who influenced the sri lankan art movement although the present day community of kaluthara past.

Design Idea
people in the kaluthara society live in a monotonous lifestyle. Home to work and work to home. Which is a daily routine. This has made the day to day life boring.there were nothing much to enjoy or celebrate. Kaluthara has been a live city once. But now its slowy transforming in to a city that imprison humans on their own minds,built by the people through their own rules. this city is not interesting space anymore, and social values has been forgotten. this has led to a high rate of crimes and the violations within the city premises. and it creates a crisis.
the public park,only public space for city turns to a crime zone after a dark. city is at the brink of the disaster that delete the humanity from life.society has been corned by the modern complexed life style. it effects the city which has now been dragged to dark corner.

There is a need for space that can heal the city.The purposed solution is to give a space where people can understand and realize their current state of affairs. Built form has been intended to create a gateway beyond the corners. which allow them to enjoy life and grow back the lost qualities. Art can inspire people and create a breathing room for once who fed up with their life styles. Art forms help people to walk out of the frame of their illusions to a better realistic perspective. Art ,freedom and creativity will change the society.That will reclaim the kaluthara society again.

*Create a space that exhibits the life and art together.
*Create a attraction between city and the people together.

Project intention
*Transform the static life style in to a dynamic life style
*Up rise the social qualities of the community and give a wider frame of
think freely.
*Finally create a public space that influence the whole city in the heart of
kaluthara.

Technical information

Structure was made by barefaced concrete, Steel and timber.
One basement on the building
using glazed glas building get light and ventilation. Bamboo thatch used for the harsh sun light.
