Project idea

THE CONCEPT WAS BORN FROM EDGE OF THE SITE ITSELF BY TAKING THE QUALITY OF “FUZZY BOUNDARY” OF THE RIVER BANK ("IWURA") . SO THE SPACES ARE DESIGNED ACCORDING TO THIS CONCEPT TO ENHANCE THE INTERACTIONS AMONG PUBLIC AND PERFORMERS. THE DESIGN REFLECTS THE IDEA THAT SOCIAL CLASS , RICH OR POOR DOES NOT AFFECT TO THE PERFORMING ARTS.

Project description

PERFORMING ART IS A FORM OF ART WHERE ARTISTS USE THEIR VOICES AND BODIES TO CONVEY A MESSAGE OR ARTISTIC EXPRESSION AND THE SKILLS THAT REQUIRE A PERFORMANCE IN FRONT OF THE PUBLIC AUDIENCE. PERFORMING ART CENTER IS A PLACE FOR LEARN , PRACTICE AND PERFORM. ALSO IT IS A PLACE TO MEET INTERACT SHARE THE IDEAS OR KNOWLEDGE ON PERFORMING ART BETWEEN PERFORMERS AND PUBLIC.

Technical information

KALUTHARA IS AN AREA OF WESTERN SIDE OF SRI LANKA WHICH HAS A RICH CULTURAL BACKGROUND WITH PERFORMING ARTS. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT IS TO ESTABLISH A LANDMARK FOR THE PERFORMING ARTISTS IN SRI LANKA.
