Project idea

A design that encourages lodgers to mingle with the exquisite beachscape and rejoice themselves outdoors, hence given the minimal attention to the built structure with a simpler and precisely functional scheme. Building itself is a reflection of the local craftsmanship via refined details involved and is immensely intended on passive modes of climatic responsiveness. Subtle preference in diverse materials advocates the versatility of the spaces and language of the scheme beyond perfection.

Project description

The land is bound with Kalu ganga in the front and shore in the rear which is quite an exclusive feature to the Calido beach stripe allowing limitless recreational opportunities and indulgence to the lodgers. Hence the project would demarcate the inception of a long running hospitality provision master project, being leverage to the thriving tourism industry in Sri Lanka and communal employment.

Technical information

Building covers only a 3/5 of the total buildable area, hence given a significant plot amount for landscaping which promotes outdoor public activity along with the pool space which is a conjugation in between the hotel and the sea. All spaces are adequately opened towards the vistas of the sea and the river. Zoning of the building on the horizontal plain is as public and service whereas on the vertical plain it is as public, semi- public and private spaces obeyed the hierarchy of privacy. vv
