Parasite architecture - Prostitution stigma and violence

Project idea

It was important for me to take into account the fact how society perceives women in this industry. I do not perceive these people as committing something deviant. I worked with the brothels in a way that could change the view of people who earn their living by selling their bodies and whether the individuals are committed violence. According to my research, the majority of respondents do not know or think that violence is committed against sex workers.

Project description

The most perceived evil, which is, is evident at first sight. Women who work in a brothel are those that pull men from families. But understanding violence as a violent act is not entirely correct. We often condemn the culprit, who is the easiest to point to. If we look at this problem from another perspective - objectively, we find that not always women or even men work in brothels voluntarily, not all their human rights are respected. These are often pimping and white meat trade.

On the other hand, it is a biologically conditioned, basic human need. So why are both sex workers and workers excluded at the margins of society, and what are the reasons for human existence that are essentially unacceptable? A huge influence on the theoretical labeling of 'labeling'. According to Howard Becker (1997, first published in 1966) When we look at the whole problem, we look at the sociological view, we look at nine who have a label of deviants from society, look (or willingly) to think that it has the form of deviant companies who have been labeled.

The concrete roof of the roof is a gradient that gives dynamism to the whole space. In the most intimate parts of the building, the roof curve is densest, the clearest height and the ground plan of the building is the most widespread in this part. While in areas where the accumulation of intimacy is lower, the structure is smoother and the clearance is lower. The roof itself serves as an escape route for prostitutes. Individual rooms live - they parasitize in a common space, which creates objects among themselves. One function would not work without the other.
. Every object has its clearly defined function, from changing rooms to rooms for the work of prostitutes. These spaces are the most intimate and sexuality influences the layout.
An object whose primary function is to provide sexual services includes other non-intimate functions such as a hairdresser, sauna, spa center or facilities for sex workers. For the vast majority of people would be ashamed of seeing them move near the brothel, let alone visit. The building contains a greater number of exits, for easier and safer escape. Including the main entrance where the customer passes through non-intimate functions

Technical information

The physical model is only a cut-out all project. made of gypsum in 1:50 scale. the first photos are only prototype and the others photos models are finals of my project. You can see segments of cemetery next to brothel.
