The main idea was to design concert hall on the embankment of river Vltava that was supposed to be dominant and something breathtaking for everyone who goes by. I started from the shape of clef as a symbol of symphony.
Main entrance is from embankment. First thing which can visitors see is monumental column dominating the foyer of the building. Cloakroom and toilets are located right below the concert hall. To enter the concert hall from foyer you can use moving walkway spinning around the column leading to the restaurant which is located on the top. From the restaurant is marvellous view on the river. Musicians have another entrance on the south of the building from where they can go to first basement where all artist suites and practice rooms are located.
The concert hall has oval shape that is created from Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete and steel lattice structure. Between the GFRC panels are lighted glass panels. All other load-bearing structures are made of reinforced concrete or steel. The roof of the building consist of curved glass half dome.
