Project idea

The project main purpose was to create a SPA Center near the central zone of Bucharest. In present all big SPA Centers from Bucharest are situated on its periphery and is very difficult to acces this zones with public transport, the connection being possible mainly with privat vehicul.

Project description

In my project I proposed a new SPA Center near the central zone of Bucharest. I speculated the short distance between the Site and the National University of Sports from Bucharest to create a multifunctional space which can be used both summer and winter. The proposed Center has a lot of spaces which can be rented for the National University of Sport to keep different competitions for example. The southern facade is situated on Splaiul Independentei Street, the street has a heavy car traffic and I decided to blur the view from the street into the pool space with a waterfall along the facade, which offer privacy for visitors and which reduce the indoor heat and also the consume of the energy for maintaining the good quality of the indoor space.

Technical information

The structure used is a mix between metalic structure and the concret structure. The problem with the metalic structure was to protect the beams and pilings against corrosion because of the great value of water vapor. The protection can be done easiest with different kind of treatment for the metalic structure but for my project i choose to protect the metalic structure with an apparent waterproof ceiling.
