Project idea

Projekt spracováva návrh koncertnej haly ako dostavby k terajšej Meistersingerhalle v Norimbergu. Existujúca Meistersingerhall je pamiatkovo chránená, hmotovo jednoduchá. Návrh pracuje s pôvodnými proporciami a objemami, ktoré novo usporadúva podľa súčasných potrieb. Nová hmota je nadľahčená presklenným foyér v prízemí, ktoré spája obe stavby, opticky otvára a odľahčuje priestor pod budovou a spája ju tak s mestom. Skrz vznášajúcu sa hmotu prechádza koncertná sieň, ktorá je zakomponovaná až do podzemia a budovu tak jasne delí na časť verejnú a privátnu. Vstup do koncertnej siene je tak umožnený z každého podlažia a z každej strany. „Vznášajúca sa“ časť je odetá do perforovaného plechu, ktorý zjednocuje hmotu a približuje ju tak jestvujúcej Meistersingerhalle.
This project is dealing with designing a new concerthall (extension) in Nuremberg to its existing Meistersingerhalle. (=the name of existing hall). Meistersingerhalle is a listed building in Nuremberg and divided into very simple volumes. The new extension respects the old building and works with its proportions and volumes in a new way, according to current needs and requirements.
A part of a new volume is floating over a glass foyer to open the space under the building and connect the hall with the city. There is a cube with the concert hall itself inside, which is going through the all levels and makes it possible to entry the hall from each level and side.
The floating part ist made of perforated metal to make the volume compact and underline the connection to the older building of Meistersingerhalle.

Project description

Budova pozostáva z časti verejnej (koncertná sieň, foyér, toalety, šatne, buffet) a privátnej (foyér hercov, skúšobne, miestnosti pre jednotlivých členov orchestra, oddychové zóny, toalety, kancelárie manažmentu a skladovanie/zásobovanie). Delenie na tieto dve zóny je jasné z geometrie pôdorysu. Malá scéna je považovaná za akúsi hranicu medzi privátnym a verejným, keďže je zároveň i skúšobňou orchestra.
Celá privátna časť je presvetlená vnútornými dvormi a verejná časť podlhovastými svetlíkmi po obvode. Tie umožňujú doviesť dostatok osvetlenia i do foyér v podzemnej časti. Súčasťou každého pôdorysu je ilustrácia- kompozícia.
Zaujímavosťou je, že zásobovanie koncertnej siene prebieha v podzemí a na jej prevádzku nie je potrebný nákladný výťah (viz rez), keďže je výška pódia a manipulačnej plochy v zázemí uspôsobená výške nákladného auta.

The new building consists of a public part (concerthall, foyer, toilets, wardrobes, buffet) and a private part (artists foyer, artists warderobes, rehearse rooms, blackboxes, offices of orchestra members, chilling zones, private toilets, offices of management and storage space). The devision of these two parts is clear because of the geometry of the groundplan. The small scene (public events) is on the border of the private and public, because it is also considered to be a rehearse room for orchestra (private).
The private part gets the sunlight through the court yards. The public part has skylights in a strip form, that are situated on the whole length of the foyer. They are bringing enough light also to the lower part of foyer placed in level -1. For better understanding – there is an illustration of composition on the posters.
There is an interesting detail- the supplying is done in the level -1 without any need of elevator. It is done by letting the car to drive in the building. The height of storage spaces is designed according the height of the supllying cars.

Technical information

Akusticky sa jedná o sál s pomermi strán 1:2, čo bolo zadaním súťaže.

The concerthall has a proportion 1:2 which was a condition from the competition.
