Project on extension on the roof of the building B CTU in Prague 6. In project were preferred views which we tried to use in each part of the structure.
Documentation was being solved in the area of the study. The project of the exhibition area was part of the project of the building. The exhibition area is located in underground on a free place in front of the building B. Café is intended for public. Public can enter into café traugh the exhibition area and then come out by sightseeing elevator up. Café also serves for members of college. They can enter there from the last one floor of building B. On the first look the building militates self.consident and is covered by expanded metal which opens in area of windows because of better visibility.
Capacity of the café is about one hundred people (in a case of a necessity thanks to the open area is possible to increase the capacity. There is also a beautiful place with a fantastic view of monuments of Prague like Prague castle, Petřín watchtower and many others..
The café is divided to two open areas and terrace outside with moveable wall which can he opened in hot weather.
Other important part is for example bar, base for employees, a place to prepare, toilets ..
To the second floor you can get by lift or spiral stair. There is lounge which is possible to rent for private purposes. From lounge you can go to a roof of the University or visit observatory which is on the roof next to the café.
Supporting structure of the café is created of a parapet steel beam which overstresses hanging part of the building. Under a beam is steel rolled grid which equalises burden from extension to the current building and also creates supporting structure for a floor. It all supports reinforced concrete column which is creates core for lift. Inside and outside facade carries steel trusses. Ventilation of the café is realized thanks to windows and moveable wall.
