Project idea

Library needs to be transformed as an active social space. A public library is just not a space to access physical and digital data but also create an environment to initiate interaction of people and exchange of ideas takes place among all people of diverse backgrounds and age groups visiting the library.
I have done my work under the supervision of my teacher Ma'am Mamoona Rashid.

Project description

Its difficult to design library with its contextual environment to be fit in. I prefer angular lines to create interest of people to explore all aspects of library building. Basically its complex building which include Library, children library, exhibition hall and café. Its hard to design all spaces with their relevant relationship. I use hexagonal shapes at the front façade of library section that refer to honey bee life circle. Honey bee lay eggs in hexagonal cells then the egg naturally transform to adult bee its repeat constantly because bee replace by new born bee like that new books replace older one but the book racks still there like cells. The surrounding environment is also design intelligently with respect to their context.

The project includes master site plan, all floor plans, sections, elevations, and 3Ds visualization.
