The Square of the 950th Anniversary of Yaroslavl is located in the very center of the city amidst residential buildings, so the main task was to create a comfortable environment that reflects the uniqueness of the project idea and "genius loci" (the spirit of the place), for leisure activities for residents of all ages.
Thus, the project features a children's playground made of natural materials, where kids can climb on ropes and slide down slides.
For older visitors, quiet relaxation areas and a viewpoint have been organized throughout the area. Additionally, there’s a sports complex nearby, so it was decided to design a skate park and a modern sports ground equipped with canopies, exercise equipment, and drinking fountains.
One of the main elements of the square is a pergola designed in the shape of the former Pokrovskaya Church from 1905 that used to stand on the site. This pergola will help visitors learn the history of this place and relax from the urban hustle in comfortable hammocks.
The design of the square includes street lighting of various heights, which will not only serve as a source of light but also contribute to an inspiring atmosphere.
