Idea projektu

This Project is an Experimental Project Of Bangladesh Agriculture Extension Department and FAO Which is an extension project for popularization of vegetable and spices on floating Bed . In some parts of Bangladesh, most area affected by flood and where water remains
for a prolonged period of time, farmers are using their submerged lands for crop production by adopting scientific methods which are similar to hydroponic agriculture practices, floating agriculture, whereby plants can be grown on the water in a bio land or floating bed
of water hyacinth, algae or other plant residues . This practice has traditional roots in practices dating back to the country’s
forbearers According to their needs, people in different parts of Bangladesh have adopted, modified and named this
practice differently ( baira boor dhap , gathua gatoni, geto kandi ,and vasoman chash and floating agriculture)
Actually, this practice is most successful in the coastal areas that are adjacent to the sea bank areas, which remain submerged
for long periods, especially in the monsoon season, as well as the wetland Haor Areas Floating gardens are age old practice of
crop cultivation in the Southern floodplains of Bangladesh (
Goplaganj and Pirojpur districts) Floating
garden agricultural practices (locally
known as Dhap for growing vegetables
and spices prevail in the wetlands of the
south central coastal districts of
Bangladesh since immemorial times .

Food and livelihood security .
Agricultural benefits of this practice, which contribute to food security, are
• Additional space for vegetables cultivation and seedling raising in the wetlands
• Early production of seedlings of winter vegetables
• Increase in vegetables supply in the area and the surroundings
• Crops require shorter time to mature when cultivated on floating platforms
•Prime nutrient elements, namely nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are available in
water hyacinth comparable with cow dung
• When water recedes from haor dismantled floating platforms are used as organic fertilizer In this way
 Livelihood Security
 Biodiversity and ecosystem function
•Agricultural biodiversity
•Aquatic biodiversity
•Source of medicinal/herbal plants
 Ecosystem function
•Climate change adaptation
•Eco friendly agriculture
•Invasive species control
The Mission of agricultural education is to provide a total dynamic educational system
We aspire to excellence as we recruit, prepare and support individuals in agricultural careers
We serve the people and inform them about agriculture, its needs, opportunities and challenges

Technické informace

In this Project i tried to make sure to make a platform for Farmers where they can learn practically .
Floating agricultural system is an old cultivation system in Bangladesh its can help us to make sure about our food safety .
In this project we have face a lot of challenge because of in this land have tow type of condition when monsoon heavy rainfall flooded this area on the overside winter season this land become a land . we have few machines for research which is very sensitive on the other side cultivation system needs water for cultivation . so we decided to make 1st floor for research purpose and classroom . its helps us to keep secure our research machines . other side cultivation system totally floating on the water we make few floating deck with bamboo and plastic drams which is totally local techniques . those floating platforms used as a floating classroom which helps farmers to learn more practically
