Idea projektu

The main idea and goal of our project is the regeneration of the territory of "Strelka" in the city of Yaroslavl, since this territory is in disrepair, although it has a very rich history and a good location. This territory should become a new center of attraction for tourists and city residents. The topic of the final qualification work - the regeneration of the ensemble “Strelka” in Yaroslavl - is extremely relevant at present for several reasons.
From the urban planning point of view this territory is morally outdated, the planning structure of the modern territory of the “upper Strelka” does not meet modern quality standards and the needs of residents and guests of the city.
After the construction of the Cathedral of the Assumption it became clear that the territory of Peace Boulevard is not adapted to the large flow of people, rather narrow paths, separated by extremely large green areas, do not fulfill their main function - pedestrian transit and visual corridor to the temple.
It is worth noting separately the territory of the historical quarter No. 2. Partly it is in a ruined state, partly it is abandoned. Our work offers a competent and accurate solution to the historical heritage of this territory.
Creation of a museum complex on this territory is a highly demanded and discussed topic, because of the lack of specially designed for these needs objects, because now the main museums of the city are located in historical buildings, originally not intended for museum expositions.

Popis projektu

The Strelka Ensemble regeneration project in Yaroslavl includes the development of a comprehensive architectural project on a site with a total area of 10.5 hectares. In this area we have developed 3 museum buildings - including the ghost buildings of the Church of St. John Chrysostom - the main building of the museum, the reconstruction of the Spartakovets stadium, an amphitheater with an observation deck, the landmark "Ghost Bell Tower" was developed, in addition to this, the territory of "Peace Boulevard", the Cathedral Square, the territory around the Assumption Cathedral were redesigned, a project for the improvement of the abandoned territory of the historical quarter number 2 was developed - now it is the Museum Quarter. There is an underground parking lot under the amphetator.
One of the main ideas in our work is the combination of three historical periods at once: the modern period, the period of the 17th century and the period of the 19th century. From the modern period came our minimalist volumes and modern materials, from the 19th century - the grids of historical buildings of the church of St. John Chrysostom, the manor of the merchant Litov, the bell tower of the Assumption Cathedral, and from the 17th century came the idea of decorating the interior space of the historical quarter No. 2. The pattern of paving and the arrangement of street lighting of the lower and middle tier repeat the contours of the lost buildings of the 17th century. This technique emphasizes the connection of this area with the history and spirit of the place. In the upper tier of lighting we decided to make literally a ghost - a light translucent luminous ribbon. It starts on the Volga embankment, flies through the entire block, touching each of our ghostly buildings, passes through the cut of the last one and disappears on Mira Boulevard.
On the territory of the tennis courts we have developed an amphitheater with a viewing platform above it. Also in this area is the entrance to the underground parking lot, on the roof of which there are quiet resting places. In the existing building with an arch, located next to the tennis courts, we leave the function of the cafe and take it a little wider in the direction of the Volga Tower, adding seating, tables for 2-4 people, in the warm season.
On the site of the Spartakovets stadium we are placing a multifunctional arena with an arched grandstand referring to the flow of the Bear Gully.
The master plan of the area was developed based on the general functional need for a laconic light color scheme, a grid of circles was taken as a basis, which we deformed and cut, leaving only the pedestrian connections that are not necessary in this way.

Technické informace

The construction of the buildings is traditional for our region. An unusual solution is the creation of a second layer of the facade, repeating the lost buildings located in this place. These facades are made of metal mesh in the manner of the mesh of Edoardo Tressoldi. Some buildings are completely made of mesh, others - partially. The materials are white facade systems, metal mesh, glass, concrete blocks and columns.
