The main idea of ​​this project is to create a multifunctional tourist complex designed for all seasons.
The historical analysis showed that the territory was empty throughout its existence, which gave freedom in choosing the functional content. This is how the program of the thematic tourist and entertainment complex was formed.
The activities of the complex are aimed at both local residents and visiting tourists. The basis of the tourist destination is a hotel complex with a small cafe adjacent to the boathouses. Otherwise functional
the complex's program is universal and does not have a clear division between local residents and city guests.
The origins of the thought that combined the function and artistic image of the complex go back to the distant pre-Christian past, turning to the heroes of ancient fairy tales and the pagan gods Perun, Veles, Kupala and Chernobog, whose temples were found on Yaroslavl land. The basis for the figurative solution to the planning structure of the territory was the movement of the Perun wheel, closed by a chain of paths. The wheel burns, rolls and leaves an indelible mark on the ground, and eventually falls into the thick grass. Three wheels fell on unnamed islands and fixed three compositional centers. Each of them carries its own functional load and thematic
meaning.

The largest center includes a hotel complex with a cafe function, a boathouse building with a rental point. The second compositional center includes a food court, a self-service restaurant, a pottery workshop and shopping pavilions. The third center includes a winter garden, inside of which there is a coffee shop and a flower shop. Each of them became the personification of the Slavic gods. Ivan Kupala occupied the center with boathouses and a hotel, since we associate him with the summer holiday of the summer solstice and is the patron saint of the elements of water and fire. Veles, as the god of life and fertility, liked the location of the winter garden. Chernobog settled in an area with a food court and a pottery workshop. As the god of darkness, he is also responsible for balance, including the balance of creation and destruction.
The goal of working with the architectural appearance of the complex was to create an aesthetically holistic and comfortable environment, as well as an attractive architectural profile of the territory, since it has views from almost the entire embankment. All three cores of the complex have common aesthetics and materials, but each has its own distinctive features that allow us to consider them as self-sufficient archetypes. The volumes, which are quite simple in plan, are harmoniously complemented by complex roof breaks.

Technické informace

Materials such as wood, concrete, glass, and metal were used to develop the architectural appearance of the complex. To lighten the overall volumes of the complex's buildings, large areas of glazing were used when designing the facades. Echoes of pagan aesthetics are carefully introduced as ornaments on concrete surfaces, in the paving and light walls of the exhibition pavilion, as well as in the images of high-rise dominants and small gazebos on the water, reminiscent of sheaves of hay. One of the dominant features is the volume that cuts into the building of the food court and workshops. It contains a passage connecting the two parts of the building, as well as a balcony overlooking the square. Another high-rise dominant feature is the observation tower. From which there is a view of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery.
