The concept of our project is based on three stages of Schindler's awareness of the problem of the genocide of the Jews. Ignoring - realizing - trying to help. In our project we give this chain of awareness an architectural and urban planning meaning.
We retain the stylistics of historical buildings in some of the buildings of the complex, while making a smooth transition from the architecture of the time, to a more modern architecture. The buildings of Oskar and Emilie Schindler's house, the SS building and Schindler's Ark itself form this historical part of the complex, immersing us in the atmosphere of the place. Since a museum is a place where we learn something new through the study of the old, we have made the museum building a kind of transition "from the old to the new". The recreational area designed by us is a community center, an example of "new" architecture. That is, the whole complex is a chain of change, modernization, and in a way a study of the events taking place on this territory.
We are the AVIYA team. We present you our project of the memorial complex "Schindler's Ark". Our idea is to create a comfortable public and tourist space that has a great meaning. We envision in our project art objects, objects of historical value, objects aimed at the development of charity on the territory of the complex, objects with tourist appeal. With all this diversity, we do not forget the origins of the territory: the original facades, historical points and representative art objects
The buildings of the complex are made of old bricks, which in turn are being treated and restored.
It is also important to clarify that the recreational areas (such as the greenhouse and the park area with amphitheater) are surrounded by strong metal structures.
The display stands and entrance area are made of metal frames, glass and wooden panels.
