The idea of the project is to raise public awareness of the events that took place in Brněnec during the Second World War by restoring the heritage of the Löw-Beer’s family. In addition, our goal was to create a residential complex to improve the quality of life in the village as well as to design new living facilities for potential new residents. Furthermore, we decided to develop a tourist complex in order to attract more visitors to the proposed historical museum and cultural center. Covering almost half of the village, our architectural project is aiming to reinvent Brněnec and make it a new drawing point for both locals and tourists.
The project consists of:
1) Historical and cultural complex which includes Schindler's Ark Building, German garrison building, Oskar Schindler's office building and Former factory hall (all the above are renovated) that are situated in the northern part of the site.
2) New residential complex that consists of seven buildings providing three different types of accommodation (taking the central part of the lot) and an underground parking
3) Tourist complex with the spa center located in the southern part of the area
4) Two other revitalized industrial buildings (located in the central site) – daycare center for kids and a restaurant
Technical information:
New residential buildings and the tourist complex are made of reinforced concrete structures. Facades are finished with wood siding, artificial stone and glass.
Historical buildings are renovated and reinforced (if needed) with different type of frame work. Original brick walls are exposed
