Popis projektu

The designer is tasked to plan, design and specify the architectural acoustics and lighting systems of the interior of a movie theater or cinema. The project is a typical plan of four cinema rooms, each with an area of 756 sq.m and a width of 21 meters; they are arranged with two cinemas on each side of a six-meter wide center corridor on the lower floor area and the control booths on the upper floor area. The control booth and center booth are excluded from the aforementioned 756 sq.m. theater rooms. The total height of the interior is 10.40 m, where 5.70 meters is intended for the lower level and 4.70 meters for the upper floor. The lower floor includes a vestibule with seating for waiting for the next screening. The entry point to the theater rooms/cinema shall be located at the rear side of the rooms, adjacent to the waiting area and the entry point to the control booths shall be through the theater rooms/cinema; however, two fire exit doors are also provided on each side of the movie wall. The movie wall allows for a projection height of 9 meters with an aspect of 2:1 screen display size and is 0.80 meters

The project requirements entail designing a theater capable of accommodating 504 individuals comfortably, with a focus on inclusivity for all patrons. The design will prioritize an exceptional viewing experience, incorporating acoustical treatments on the walls and ceiling, along with strategically placed sound reinforcement throughout the space. Lighting considerations will involve treatments on the ceiling, floors, and walls to allow for adjustable brightness levels optimized for movie-watching. Additionally, adherence to code compliances, particularly fire code regulations concerning egress and seating arrangements, is essential. Furthermore, the design will feature a movie wall that enhances the aesthetic appeal and immersive ambiance of the theater.

Technické informace

The construction of the interior elements of the movie theater is as follows: Acoustic plywood is used on the walls and ceiling to enhance sound quality and reduce reverberation, creating a more immersive and enjoyable cinema experience. Wood laminate, a type of material, offers a durable and aesthetically pleasing surface. PVC leather is a durable and aesthetically appealing material used in the lounge areas, offering a comfortable and stylish seating surface. Lastly, fiberboard is used for walls and partitions, providing a cost-effective and versatile option.
