Global aging statistics show that by 2050, people over 60 years of age are expected to make up 30 percent of the population in 65 countries of the world. Due to the fact that the number of older people is constantly increasing every year, there is a need to create proper comfortable conditions of the surrounding space and housing that will allow them to continue an active life. It is advisable to reorganize and renovate state boarding facilities, or to create new private boarding houses that will acquire architectural and artistic expressiveness, create a favorable atmosphere for both ordinary residents and patients, with full or partial medical care. The work presents a design solution for the interior design of a house for the elderly. The functional planning of the premises of the house and their artistic and aesthetic solution are described in detail. The presented concept meets the conditions of inclusiveness, creates a comfortable, harmonious environment in which you want and can live a full life, in a circle of like-minded people and staff who are always ready to help. The proposed stylistic solution reflects the concept of continuing life, its flourishing.
For detailed visual development, the premises of the lobby, dining room, single and double rooms were selected. The general style solution is characterized by the use of calm natural shades of colors such as green, blue, brown and yellow. In order to emphasize the connection between man and nature, plants are used in the premises whenever possible, and if there is no such possibility, textiles with plant motifs are used. The proposed style can be characterized as eclectic with elements of the English style. All premises are made in a single style solution. The interior of each of the rooms creates a favorable atmosphere, reflects a feeling of home comfort, which helps the elderly to more easily adapt to changes in living conditions. The project shows what a home for the elderly in Ukraine can look like - with a soul and a zest for life. I hope that this project will be able to draw attention to the problem of homes for the elderly in Ukraine and that faith in these institutions and their necessity will be restored, and the institutions themselves will create conditions for a dignified old age.
