The "Mahalla" project aims to revitalize the traditional Uzbek neighborhood by integrating modern social structures and activities that foster community engagement. By rethinking the typical Uzbek family structure, the project seeks to create a cohesive system that brings together social activities for all age groups, emphasizing the importance of both parents' roles in child upbringing and community involvement.
The "Mahalla" project will transform the traditional Uzbek neighborhood into a vibrant community hub where social interactions and cultural activities flourish. The project focuses on creating inclusive spaces such as Choyhonas (teahouses) for men, "GAP" gatherings for women, and communal areas for children. By consolidating various social activities into a unified system, the project aims to enhance the quality of life, preserve cultural heritage, and promote gender equality in community involvement. Key elements include green spaces, playgrounds, cooking areas, and observation zones, all designed to facilitate interaction and communal living.
The "Mahalla" project will be implemented in multiple locations within the Shayhontohur district of Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Each location will feature carefully planned zones that include cooking areas, green spaces, sitting areas, and playgrounds, all designed to support different social activities. The infrastructure will be adaptable to various conditions, ensuring ease of use and accessibility for all community members. Technical plans include detailed layouts for each zone, specifying areas for traditional cooking, children's play, and communal gatherings, thereby creating an integrated and sustainable environment for the community.
