Idea projektu

The word 'Gosha' and 'Atfal' in Urdu, mean 'corner' and 'children' respectively. Through a combination of theoretical analysis, case studies, ground research and design propositions, this project explores the idea of "Eduscapes" (An amalgamation of play, education, and vocational training) as an architectural framework for empowering the underprivileged children of Pakistan and promoting their cognitive and intellectual growth, along with holistic development.

Popis projektu

The design concept revolves around seamlessly intertwining learning and play, creating a dynamic environment that not only educates but also inspires, encouraging children to explore, interact, and flourish. The idea is rooted in fostering holistic development through immersive engagement with nature, versatile multipurpose spaces, and vibrant communal areas.

Technické informace

Since the project is rooted in a shanty town of Karachi, Pakistan, the material considerations have played a significant role where recycled wood from ship wrecks around the site was prioritized. Sustainable alternatives such as bamboo and cane screens in place of windows were also added in order to propose similar solutions for future constructions to the people.
