'The Organ' - Poetic Concept

In the silent chambers of sleep, our senses still perceive,
like a heartbeat, ever vigilant, in sound we weave.
Ripples traverse through the body’s unseen lanes,
around every curve, a narrative remains.
Music breathes, a spirit both tender and profound,
mirroring the organ’s whispers, in harmony they’re bound.
What once was formidable now softly entwines,
echoing within us, where flesh and melody align.
As the body sustains, so does music’s embrace,
revealing the beauty of our journey, a shared space.
From the depths of our being to the expanse of the sound,
we’ve traversed vast distances, in unity we’re found.
The organs, both within us and the instruments we play,
guides us through life’s symphony in an extraordinary
way.

In collaboration with Firdaus Studio by AR Rahman, an award-winning recording studio in Expo City Dubai, a conservatory of music is envisioned for the city. Aligning with the studio's future goals to nurture global musical talent whilst leaving a lasting legacy of the world's fair

Popis projektu

Exploring the concept of fluidity in musical expression, form, and space through deconstructivism. The concept aims to establish a distinctive and inspiring landmark not only for Expo City but also for the broader Dubai area. Its vision is to serve as an immersive gateway where music leads into the expo and the expo opens up to the world. Frank Gehry's works have provided a strong precedent for understanding space and form through realized deconstructivism.

A significant focus was placed on meticulously crafting spatial experiences. Each area is designed to evoke specific emotional responses, featuring thoughtfully designed practice rooms and performance spaces. These spaces vary in shape and acoustic properties to offer diverse performance experiences. The dynamic features allow for flexibility in combining and dividing spaces, fostering collaborative practice and learning. This adaptability ensures that the areas can be customized for a wide range of activities, enhancing overall user satisfaction.
