Design of a new interior in the building of education in Břeclav, which serves mainly as an administrative building with the possibility of organizing events. There was a need to create an acoustically suitable environment in the hall and to illuminate the main corridor, which was not well lit due to the absence of daylight.
The solution was to change the material and perhaps also the shape of the hall. For that reason, I covered the hall with a double facade
and created a small rotation of ceramic blocks in a shade of corten. They add dynamism to this volume and differentiate the mass of the administrative part and the scarf. The color of the facade and window filling was changed. A small park has been created on the terrace on the 2nd floor, which is used for daily use and there is a covered seating area for Pipi grill refreshments.
In the Interior, it was necessary to change the main corridor leading to the hall and to the staircase. There were also changes in the function of the rooms for better serviceability, namely the addition of safes. wc and changes of place for the porter. The corridor had to be illuminated as much as possible, due to the lack of daylight, and the same applies to the staircase.
As for the hall, it was necessary to solve the acoustics and change the visual state with the stage. Therefore, as an acoustic solution, I designed acoustic foam blocks on the side walls, which partially absorb the noise and add dynamism to the space. Individual blocks have been offset to add a dynamic effect. Along the wall opposite the window, there are blocks that are also acoustic, but their other function is storage space, it is possible to slide out the individual blocks and place, for example, furniture in them. The ceiling was also changed and replaced with smooth blocks, at different heights and in a wave shape for sound propagation. The stage in the hall needed to be modified and a backstage added. The background of the stage was painted black for greater effect.
The material change occurred on the building of the hall, when a second facade was added, to improve the acoustics and separate the volumes of the administration and the hall. The hall was given more dynamism thanks to the beveled ceramic plates, which are in the shade of corten. Another change occurred in the paving in the entrance hall of the House of Education, namely the designation of the main and secondary roads. The main road was painted red. Anthracite elements such as railings, baskets and lights were added here. In the interior of the House of Education, the veneer has been modified and it has been lightened to a shade of light oak to match the travertine columns that I am keeping here. The floor was made of glossy Terac with small light blue pieces. The ceiling was created as a soffit made of perforated sheet metal, and designer lighting is placed on it.
The hall is made mainly of acoustic elements, one of them are blocks of acoustic foam, which are of different sizes and are in shades of white and beige. Another element here is the ceiling, which is made of smooth blocks in a shade of white and finally the stage in black.
A big change took place on the 2nd floor, where a terrace was created, which has communication from concrete blocks and partly from wooden slats. The rest of the area is mostly green. There is a shelter made of steel profiles and wooden slats.
