As a collaborative team of student architects, we are thrilled to present our collective vision for the Ukraine Fire Station. This project embodies resilience, solidarity, and community strength amid national conflict. Through our combined expertise and shared passion for architecture, we have crafted a design proposal that goes beyond mere functionality to become a symbol of hope and renewal for the Ukrainian people.
This student group's objective is to design a modern and resilient fire station for Ukraine, serving as a symbol of hope and renewal amidst national conflict. Participants will integrate structural innovation, sustainability, and community engagement into their designs, aiming to create a building that meets functional requirements and embodies the spirit of resilience and solidarity.
The structural design of the building incorporates a two-way flat slab support system, utilizing a grid spacing of 6.096 meters by 6.096 meters to distribute loads efficiently across the structure. This system provides robust support while allowing for flexibility in layout and utilization of interior spaces. To ensure stability and longevity, concrete-driven piles will be employed as the foundation, anchoring the structure securely to the ground and mitigating potential soil instability issues. Additionally, the roof will feature a conventional steel frame roofing system, consisting of 6.096-meter joists, providing ample strength to support the roof loads and allowing for easy installation of roofing materials. This combination of structural elements ensures both durability and functionality, allowing the building to withstand the rigours of its intended use while maintaining structural integrity for years to come.
