Idea projektu

The subject of the work is the conceptual design of the Center for Intergenerational Integration. The plot on which the designed building is located is on Gzichowska Street in the center of Bedzin. The functions in the facility were planned on the basis of the analyses carried out, such as the analysis of the plot's location in the city, world examples and user profiles. Based on the analysis, a 3-story building with a basement was designed. The body of the building fits into the urban fabric and refers involume to the neighboring buildings. The idea of the Center for Intergenerational Integration is to bring together residents of different ages, especially older residents and young people. The most important role in the building is played by the integration zone and workshop rooms. The functional plan of the building with zoning outlines the form of the building's operation. The first floor consists of an administrative zone with a checkroom and reception area, a zone of therapeutic offices, and a recreational zone, which includes a cafeteria and a room for meetings and joint work. The first floor is occupied by a creative activity zone and a large, open co-working zone with an associated computer room, workshop room and spacious terraces.

Popis projektu

The theme arose directly from the desire to design a center accessible to all, regardless of age and background. The main idea of the Center for Intergenerational Integration is to bring together and integrate residents of different ages by creating a space where each age, social or ethnic group will be able to find a place for themselves, participate in interesting, creative activities and get to know each other. The function of the center is also implied by Bedzin's development strategy, in which the city strives to strengthen mutual integration between residents, also bets on the development of the education sector and cultural activities, and seeks to carry out activities that improve the daily functioning of seniors in the social space. Thanks to its function, the building can play an important role in the life of the city. Residents will gain a place where they can meet, develop their passions, learn and take on new challenges. Older residents sometimes feel socially excluded or bored with their daily routine. They also often have trouble finding their way in the modern world of technology. Thanks to such a center, they can actively spend time in the company of other residents, while not closing themselves off to new challenges. Contact with a larger, diverse group gives them motivation and gives them new ideas that they would not realize in the comfort of their own homes.Younger residents of the city, in addition to learning and expanding their interests, will benefit from the social and community function of the center. Often in smaller towns, such as Bedzin, young people do not have many places to meet and spend time together with their peers.A place with a small cafe or co-working space seems to meet their expectations as well. The center, fulfilling the functions of a meeting place for residents, thus influences their development and has a social function, where both young and older people will be able to actively spend time.
