“The city of Carcassonne is placing more emphasis on historical development for tourism activities. This makes the local people feel disconnected from the city because they feel left out in their daily activities. In the strategy and planning of Carcassonne, activities serving people such as shopping centers, cinemas, ... are pushed out of the city center. As a result, the city is gradually losing its bustling spirit and replacing it with a series of historical sites that have become tourist attractions. One thing that was quite interesting when we searched for information about Carcassonne was the Cite de carcassonne and so ,all our focus was on it. But for the locals, Place Carnot excites them the most. . Because its space is associated with events from performances, slideshows, fairs, ... where they can exchange, interact and connect with each other. “
Although in the city center there are many diverse buildings such as schools, auditoriums, museums, hotels or government facilities, these spaces do not have a public spirit (eg example 4 works on Jean jaures school, Middle school varsovie, Musee dé beaux-arts, hotel De vile de carcassone). It is a dangerous thing to worship history while leaving out the essentials of the city for the sake of preserving urban architecture. The challenge here is to strike a balance between monument conservation and suitability in design.“
From the above mentioned problems. Our team felt that a building should not be a building with a fixed purpose. From there, we will create a variety of functions for it to adapt to the rhythm and lifestyle of the city
The project "Caracassonne identité Culturelle et connexion" creates a diverse public space that can be flexibly changed for different events, in order to connect between schools and local residents. Create a more vibrant and cohesive living environment. We wanted to create a combination of the new and the old. The new and the old exist side by side, holding hands to continue the journey to create a new life cycle.

The roof is like an observatory to help people have a panoramic view of the city. The shape of the roof is created by us based on the study of the typical views of the city. Each corner of the roof will point to the typical locations of the city, the roof block with a modern form contrasts with the architectural block below to create a highlight for the whole area
