Idea projektu

Renovation project of the estate of the Belarusian artist Ferdinand Ruschitz in the village of Bogdanovo, XVI century. Unfortunately, the family estate of the Ruschitz dynasty was destroyed in a fire after the Second World War. Partially preserved are the ruins of the manor foundation, cowshed columns, as well as a linden alley and the remains of a beautiful landscape park with a stream. This historical object, with its compact territory and rich artistic heritage, is a convenient object for modeling. A positive scenario for the preservation of the cultural and artistic heritage of the village of Bogdanovo, will draw attention to the historical object and give new breath to the apathetic region. With the loss of integrity, the objects have become a hybrid of nature and human structures, so it is difficult to say to whom it belongs. The ruins no longer carry functional value, but convey the spirit of the times. It is wise to use them as a positive asset that could be addressed through a sensitive but well-designed intervention.

Popis projektu

The objective of the project is to pay attention to the abandoned and destroyed estates of important cultural figures of the country. Such places of power stimulate internal improvement and relaxation from the urban environment. In this project, it is proposed to follow the fate of the Belarusian artist Ferdinand Ruschits through a built route that passes through the ruins of the former buildings of his estate.

The path begins with an object that is saved a little better than others - a former cowshed. It is located near the access road, this object served as the basis for the design of the art complex. Near the buildings, located on information stands on the sites of former architectural objects and give for the direction of the route. On the square, you can walk past the pavilions and discover unexpected angles and views of the estate's points.

The first obgect to visit is the Four Views Pavilion.
Inside, you can sit on a round pouffe in the center of the object and enjoy one of the four views, rethinking the path you have traveled.

Then you can visit the ruins of a former stone house; along the perimeter of the ruins there are three small pavilions in the form of lancet arches. These designs focus on
certain point of view. Walking through one structure, you can move on to the next along the ruins. After these visiting objects, you can go to the river and the next point after the bridge, where the artist made many sketches for his famous paintings. It is a very picturesque and favorable place for organizing picnics or plein-airs.

The last object to visit, is not part of the manor complex, but is also worthy attention is a military pillbox hidden in a labyrinth. After discovering the labyrinth and finding such an object, there may be misunderstanding what it is for, but this is an obligatory fragment in the history of the estate that cannot be ignored.

Technické informace

On the farmstead plot, the foundation of the cowshed has been preserved, surrounded by 12 columns with textured masonry. This object served as the basis for the design of the art complex, which is divided into functional areas: lodging (capsule hotel), space for exhibitions and cultural events with movable partitions and a hall, a place for brainstorming and short snacks. The project uses a palette of honest materials that reference the history of the place and the surrounding rural context. Many factors were taken into account: environmental friendliness, relevance, adaptability (merging with the context and the ruins that have survived).
