Idea projektu

The conception divides the territory into public on the left and port on the right. The Public area of the territory is designed taking into account the image of the Lebanese cedar. The symbol of the country was used as the basis for creating the shapes of the buildings. The idea is to accentuate the coastline with three dominants, each of which would have its own specific function.

The building on the right serves as a civil port and hotel. The middle structure is dedicated to the memory of the disaster on August 4, 2020. Its floors are filled with gardens and memorial halls. The western building serves as a house of culture. It hosts exhibitions, fairs and conferences.
In addition to the three tree-like buildings in the public area there is a pedestrian green multi-level structure and shopping arcades located under the highway.
The territory of the port is separated from the territory of the city by a highway. Consequently, one of the objectives of the project was to try connect the city to the coastline. Cableways and walking paths create a metaphor for stretched marine ropes, that connect the port with parts of the city.
The multi-level structure that descends to the water has different purposes at its levels by design. In addition, the public part consists of a network of reservoirs, landscaping, pedestrian and transport routes.
Green Level filled with landscaping and designed in an ecological way. Level connects the port with the public area. Medium Level dedicated to the memory of citizens who had lost their lives in the explosion in 2020. Memorials are located in the semi-empty space of the level, making this place meaningful and having a psychological effect on people crossing the levels. Robot Level designed to represent the possibilities of modern technology and fun. This level filled with robot assistants, sports and playgrounds, arcade machines, etc.

Technické informace

During the design of the port part, all functional areas were taken into account. To optimize the operation of the port, was added a container terminal with a gateway system. It is also proposed to increase the throughput of the port through a multi-level container lifting system and extended space for roadstead.
