Idea projektu

The metaphor of DEMOLITION - RESISTANCE - RISE TO VICTORY has been tried to be represented with VICTORY AXIS which starts from the oldest historical texture of the city in the north, and especially Çimenlik Castle, which is the oldest structure in this texture.

Popis projektu

The axis extends to the Erenköy Bay in the south, where the Dardanelles naval battle was won on March 18, 1915 with the last 26 mines in the south. While the river called Sarıçay, located on this axis, is crossed with the BRIDGE OF HOPE, the mine analogy represents DEMOLITION. The domino effect and fragmentation created by the destruction caused by the mine on this victory axis shape the metaphor of RESISTANCE. RISE TO VICTORY at the southern end of the axis is crowned with the view of the Çanakkale Martyrs' Monument (dated 1960).

Technické informace

We provided controlled light reception for the museum by using a mesh facade, which we lowered to 0 level with the ramps we solved at -3.50 level. Self-supporting steel profile systems were used for the bridge.
