Idea projektu

We live in a world where each one has his own direction in life but somehow time manages to join everything together. In architecture, time equals space. Starting with this, and after analyzing the site’s needs and zoning, I started designing my idea of the port of Beirut and the unity inside of it despite the different functions.

Popis projektu

the circulation based on the 2 road accesses to our plot. Of course those 2 axes will meet in 2 points: 1- the drop off point & parking, 2- the passenger arriving to the transportation stop. So those 2 intersections will create 2 elevations that are the 2 checkpoints and main functions: the arrival & the departure.
Furthermore, the 2 main axes & their intersections will obviously form public zones around, that will lead us to create a suspended folding slab to join both checkpoints but it is just a volumetrically joint because the path of the passengers leaving & arriving will never intersect due to security needs.
Since the path of the passenger is the most important element, the tube of circulation will break through the walls to link the passengers to their path clearly with a continuous connection with everything around.

Technické informace

1- V-STRUCTURE FOR THE PARKING IN REINFORCED CONCRETE
2- LIGHT METAL STRUCTURE, DIVIDING THE INTERIOR SPACES
3- SERVICE AREA'S WALL ARE IN REINFORCED CONCRETE USED AS STRUCTURE TO HOLD THE SLAB
4- EACH ELEMENT IS IDENTIFIED BY THE TYPE OF STRUCTURE BASED ON ITS FUNCTION
