Idea projektu

DOMUS GRAMINA is a design of an inn with a pension and an adjacent mini-brewery in the quarter Trávníky, a part of the mountain town of Železný Brod. The choice of this type of public amenities was based on an analysis of the site, during which the need arose to return to this place a space for public meetings and refreshments.
The mass of the inn with the pension is based on the former buildings no. 136 and 256, which stood in the south-eastern part of Malé náměstí until the second half of the 20th century. The building of the inn U černého orla was also a part of it, which was supplemented by a pension, providing place for multi-day stays. The design is complemented by a central courtyard between the inn and brewery, which serves as a restaurant garden or a place for events and meetings.

Popis projektu

The dominant area of the 1st floor is the inn, situated in the plot of the former no. 136, oriented to the southern edge of Malé náměstí, from where there is also the main entrance to the entire building. In the back of the house is designed a bathroom and cloakroom for staff, as well as a warehouse for drinks or other equipment, which is convenient to store in the immediate vicinity of the inn. Separately from the inn area, the entrance to the pension is designed, which then forms a common corridor leading to a separate staircase to the 2nd floor and the bathroom of the restaurant. The remaining part of the floor area on the ground floor is dedicated to the kitchen with 4 warehouses, which are partially accessible by a separate supply entrance from the middle courtyard between the inn / boarding house and the mini brewery.
The second floor is a private space for guests, who can be accommodated in 8 rooms. These are designed as doubles with basic amenities in the form of a wardrobe, a table with chairs and a TV. There are also separate bathrooms with shower and toilet, as well as an entrance hall for storing luggage. From the first floor there is also an entrance to the unheated attic, which is designed only as a storage space and is divided in the spirit of the two original materials into separate roofs, connected by an outdoor footbridge.
The building of the mini-brewery is located separately in the southern part of the plot and provides the production of golden liquor mainly for the consumption of the neighbouring restaurant, and partly also provides for the supply of catering facilities in Železný Brod and its surroundings. The entrance to the mini brewery is possible from the middle courtyard, or also directly from the Obránců míru embankment, if the middle courtyard is currently used as an inn garden. However, only the inn building with a boarding house will be solved as a bachelor's thesis assignment.

Technické informace

The use of brick masonry is assumed for the implementation of the project, another characteristic element would be a simple white lime plaster without decoration. As part of a contextual fusion in the surrounding buildings, a slate roofing was designed.

The project was created using the software ArchiCAD 25 and for visualisations Lumion 12.0.2 was used.
