POSTGRADUATE RESIDENCE UKM

THE PROJECT IS UKM POSTGRADUATE RESIDENCE that focused to local and internatlonal students. THE ISSUE that highlights Is lack of green area can Impact student health and academy performance so as solution towards the issue Is to create green campus. GREENCAMPUS can Improve healthy llfestyle of students and this can create Kampus Hljau UKM (Green Campus) • vision UKM.

WHY GREEN?
Green environment can reduces stressln humans. It also
can be used to reduce noise as the site located at the Railway UKM Station. Green also can improves air quality and
this gives good environment to the residence living.

My idea is turning typical Ukm college into a green urban village that offers interconnected living, along with social spaces, urban farming and green spaces that correspond to our tropical climate, the focus is on fostering a sense of community that is new example for green livable student residence. So what i try to do is to create interactive green spaces for students that can engage students interacting and create serene environment to student to living in.

The design is to create interconnecting space between other room where all the residents can accessed the facilities . The area is divided into public, semi public and private zone. Design principle uses is core and axis , using the Ukm, Ktm Ukm, Sungai Langat and the Danau golf as the main focal point. The core is elevator located at the center of the residence. The private area mainly is residential room facing Danau golf resort, Ktm Ukm and Sungai Langat to capture the view.

What i'm doing is i try to minimize the site used at the ground floor, and i create public places which is eco botanical garden and Eco Pavillion . Eco botanical garden becomes the community garden where they can enjoy the hill view of Danau resort. Eco Pavillion is a place for student to create social event and it also has the food stalls with green lanscaping .the previous food stalls located nearby the site so the idea is to bring the food stalls into the site so the student can accessed to local food dishes.

The students also can be accessed from the Ktm Ukm to the residence from the main pedestrian routes and skywalk. The previous pedestrian route is maintained and covered with a lushes green trees, along the journey they will walk passed the food stalls , convenience store ,coffee shop, and to surau nearby, and last to the bus stop . Surau will be the convenince facility for the students because the nearest prayer room is at Ktm Ukm is too small and it accommodate too many people. And the bus becomes the main transport for the postgraduate students to go to the Ukm. And for the vehicle user, the parking is designed with a green concept with a grass paver blocks and lushes green trees. At the ground floor ,it also where the office, the warden house and the disabled room located.

Technické informace

Each five room type A,B,C,D and E is located at different wings facing different views , give the room a sense of their own uniqueness and environment . The room A,B,C is for single user while room D and E is for married user. All the room then connected by the common room where the gathering takes places.
