Gem culture in Sri Lanka that runs for a long history is not at the similar condition as the period of Kings. The crafted gem culture was one of the pioneer trade factor in the ancient Sri Lanka where the best hand crafted gem was found in Sri Lanka prevailing the name of this country all over the world.
But with the period the culture of gem crafting has been decayed since there are many technological innovation and other modern equipment have influenced in the hand craft gem culture.
The shortage of laborers, lack of knowledge on hand crafted gem culture, limited natural resources, the climatic changes, demand and the supply of the gems, value of the hand crafted gems at the market, time spend on the hand crafted products can be identified as several issues that have been arisen in this industry during the past decades.
The formation of a Vocational hub to empower the hand crafted gem culture is owing to serve the people who were into this culture and industry from the ancient times from generation to generation. This hub will help to uplift the industry by providing the essentials which used in the hand crafted gem industry.
Further, as a secondary factor this will help to develop the tourism industry which is beneficial for the economy of the country as well. Therefore the whole project is brought forward with many initial primary and secondary advantages to the hand crafted gem culture, the society surrounded by and other economy of the country at the macro level as well.

The scheme is designed to firstly cater the whole society, enabling the ‘Intersection’ penetrable by city life. Therefore the whole ground layer has been decided to activate by public functions such as External promotional center for design value. amabagahayata is main major point of creating a metaphysical turning point at the intersection point
This sketch interprets two qualities. The togetherness of two elements and a present situation movement. It is the objective which is going to achieve through this project. The special progression and activities
once entered through the main entrance steps first glance of simplicity of the building with minimum and traditional materials. mud with walls takes the mind away forgetting the rest of the things. and cascading water pond gives relaxing mind.after they can entered public gathering area.

The water feature has done the different to the building the melody of cascading water helps to break the seranity in the building with harmony.this sound can also be heard from the mud finished wall,exposed bricks the reflects ones created by water on the brick walls and gabion walls with shadows and the sound of birds who occasionally visit the the water had added to the dynamism of the creation.
